Why I Became a Doula

My first birth was “normal” until it wasn’t. At 37 weeks, I was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia and sent straight to the hospital. After three days of labor, I finally got an epidural—and that’s when one nurse changed everything. Her kindness and knowledge made me feel seen, heard, and empowered. That moment lit a fire in me.

I started nursing school during the pandemic while pregnant and raising a toddler. But as the healthcare system became more mechanical, I knew I was called to something more personal. I needed to walk with mothers—not just check on them.

My second birth confirmed it. I was induced again at 42 weeks, but this time, I had a team. A friend-turned-nurse called me the moment I walked in, and her voice filled the room with oxytocin. I labored for 12 hours and felt completely supported.

That contrast—between being unseen and being fully held—is what led me here.

That’s why I became a doula.
To be the calm in the chaos.
To help moms feel safe, informed, and never alone.

Hi, I’m Hanna—a postpartum doula who specializes in overnight newborn care with a heart for nurturing families through the tender early weeks of life with a new baby.

My own journey into motherhood started with an unexpected c-section followed by a healing VBAC just 18 months later. This opened my eyes to how deeply we need rest, support, and reassurance in those first days. That experience became the foundation for the care I now offer.

As a postpartum doula who loves overnight newborn care, I gently guide families through the long nights. Tending to feeding, soothing, diapering, and baby’s needs so you can rest, recover, and begin each day feeling more centered. Whether you’re breastfeeding, pumping, or formula-feeding, I honor your choices and move in rhythm with your family’s flow.

It’s my joy to bring calm, confidence, and compassion into your home so you can feel truly held during this beautiful, life-changing transition.
